Afternoon Concert Series
JAZZ IN JANUARY! featuring Jazz Harpist Lori Andrews
Lori Andrews is a pioneering jazz harpist who redefines the harp as a swinging, funky, and soulful jazz instrument. Praised by Bob James for “double handedly redefining the possibilities of the harp,” she has performed for presidents, royalty, and Hollywood legends, with credits spanning major films, television, and top jazz festivals worldwide.
Ladie's Lunch
Join us every 1st and 3rd Monday for fellowship and fun! On the 1st Monday of the month, we meet at a local restaurant, and on the 3rd Monday, we gather for a brown bag lunch in the Walker Smith Building.
Rainbow Ministry Monthly Event
UMCPS’s Rainbow Ministry invites you to our newest monthly event: a welcoming space to connect, celebrate, and simply be yourself. Join us every 2nd Wednesday of the month at One Eleven Bar in Cathedral City for an evening of community, joy, and fabulous music. Let’s share laughter, love, and uplifting fellowship together.

Advent Organ Recital
We invite you to attend a three part recital series with Jonathan K. Merritt at the organ and piano. Advent and Christmas hymn tunes, as well as a few light classics, will be presented each week on the newly installed Allen Q385 digital church organ. Each hour long recital is free, but donations will be gladly accepted for the new organ fund. Join us on Fridays: Dec 3, 12, and 19 at 12pm.
Voices Reclaimed
This fall, we’ll begin with a book study of How to End Christian Nationalism by Amanda Tyler, facilitated by Kay Brown. Through thoughtful conversation and shared reflection, we’ll reclaim our voices and rediscover our power—individually and as a community.
Seven sessions are planned, meeting every other Saturday.

Each week, we’ll uncover sacred stories, pivotal moments, and courageous figures that have shaped queer identity—and connect them to a present-day call for justice, advocacy, and transformation.
Explore Spirituality and Recovery
6-Week Life Group Starting September 8, 2025 at 5 PM
This group is a safe, welcoming space to explore the connection between faith and recovery—whether you're on your own recovery journey or supporting someone you love. We’ll meet weekly for six weeks starting Monday, September 8 at 5 PM at Tom’s home. Open to anyone interested in recovery and spiritual growth.
Blessing of the Animals
The community is invited to a heartwarming community event celebrating the beloved animals in our lives! Join us for Blessing of the Animals, a special morning of blessings by Pastor Jane Voigts. Whether your companion is furry, feathered, finned, or scaled, they’re welcome to receive a short, meaningful blessing. If your pet can’t travel, feel free to bring a photo. Treats will be available for both humans and pets, and there will be plenty of community spirit to share.

Interfaith Prayer Vigil
Our nation's commitment to refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants has been dramatically dismantled in recent months.
HIAS has invited houses of worship to plan a national month of vigil to reclaim our commitment to welcome all those looking for a better life in the United States. Come pray with us as we seek to pilgrimage in solidarity with those who are searching for a peaceful home.
